THE SHADOW is a series of 17 paintings. The paintings tell a story about fear, how it grows in the dark and takes on a life of its own. I worked on the paintings for 3 years and was inspired by the extraordinary Stephen Roxburgh of namelos and the beautiful designer, Helen Robinson, of Helen Robinson Design. THE SHADOW paintings have had a long and winding road and will be published as a wordless book by Candlewick Press in July 2010.

This is touching. To me, the fuzziness of the little girl's clothes and her frilly pink bedskirt represents the innocence of youth, but it is in youth where our shadows start their manifest.
